A few weeks back, we gave a shoutout to the Seattle Weekly for its cover—a riff on the famous VJ-Day Times Square photo—featuring two men kissing. The cover hit on the Wednesday morning that President Obama signed the Don't Ask, Don't Tell repeal.

Turns out we weren't making stuff up. The Weekly cover is up for a Society of Publication Designers award for best cover. They're competing with some big mags, like W, Billboard, and ESPN.
