SPD Says Use of Force Appropriate in Jaywalking Case
The city's Office of Professional Accountability has concluded its investigation into the actions of Seattle Police Department officer Ian Walsh, who punched a teenage jaywalker in the face after she shoved him earlier this year. Back in June, the department temporarily reassigned the officer and required him to go through additional training.

At the conclusion of the investigation, the OPA and the officer’s chain of command presented to Chief Diaz a recommendation of exonerated, which means the officer performed his duties within the scope of department policies and procedures. Chief Diaz concurred with that finding. [...]
