PubliCola's Tunnel Debate: Lineup Confirmed
We're still ironing out the bureaucratic details on the downtown Seattle space, so we can't officially announce that until tomorrow. But we've got the panel for next Thursday night's debate on the deep-bore tunnel all confirmed and lined up.
In order to lower the temperature and get a conversation going on this seemingly intractable standoff, we're bringing advocates from both sides together to talk this thing out like grownups.
For the anti-tunnel side, it's:
Mayor Mike McGinn
Seattle City Council Member Mike O'Brien
People's Waterfront Coalition leader Cary Moon
For the pro-tunnel side, it's:
State Sen. Ed Murray
Seattle City Council Member Tom Rasmussen
King County Labor Council Executive Secretary David Freiboth
KIRO TV's even-keeled tough guy Essex Porter is moderating.
Next Thursday, Dec. 16 at 7 pm. Mark your calendars, Seattle.
