More On Other Blogs: The Bicycle Thieves
Jonah Spangenthal-Lee reports on SeattleCrime.com that the Seattle Police Department has arrested two prolific Capitol Hill bicycle thieves. The arrests have helped stop a rash of recent bike thefts, according to stolenbicycleregistry.com
and Velo Bike Shop owner Lloyd Tamura.
We have a call in to Tamura, who told SeattleCrime.com that the thefts have "calmed down" since the arrests.
Tamura—who himself was recently the victim of bike theft—told police customers had been bringing him “information on their recently stolen bicycles,” police records say.
Tamura told police that a man had recently come in to his store after purchasing what turned out to be a stolen bike in the Central District from a seller who claimed to be a Velo employee.
