1. U.S. Rep. Dave Reichert's Alpine Lakes Wilderness bill—which would dramatically expand the park, and which passed the House in March—failed in the Senate yesterday
when Republicans blocked Sens. Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell's attempt to pass it on unanimous consent.

Exactly a year ago today in Morning Fizz, as the 2010 session in Olympia was looming, we proposed a budget solution for the then-$2.6-billion state budget shortfall.
