Another Reason We Need a Pedestrian Safety Campaign
A public-safety message for drivers:
It rains here. When that happens, we get puddles. They look like this:
Frequently, there are people on the sidewalks in Seattle, also known as "pedestrians." When you zoom through puddles at 40 mph, odds are that you'll end up soaking those pedestrians, ruining their clothes and their day.
I think the people who consider $47,000 too much to spend promoting pedestrian safety are probably the same people who forget that, as soon as they get out of their steel boxes, they'll be pedestrians too. Or, to quote Seattle's pedestrian safety campaign, "You walk. You drive. Take it slow."
