PubliCola's 2nd Annual Election Debrief

By Josh Feit November 8, 2010

After last year's heated mayoral campaign, PubliCola got the consultants from both camps, McGinn and Mallahan, to sit down together and debrief.

The stakes were higher this year as the whole country got rocked by a convulsion from the right; the whole country except Washington State it seems.

To find out what it all means, we're getting Washington State Democratic Party Chair Dwight Pelz and KOMO's conservative radio talk jock John Carlson to sit down and discuss: Why did Sen. Patty Murray survive the red wave? How will the Democrats respond to the Tea Party? How will the Republicans respond to the Tea Party? What does it all mean for 2012?

And actually, Washington did get hit. A batch of conservative measures have, according to Democratic Gov. Chris Gregoire, sent a strong message: Cut government! Will the Democrats give in to the backlash?

Seattle University's Masters of Public Administration instructor Marco Lowe, who teaches a masters class on campaigns and elections, will be moderating.

Come by for drinks and discussion at Liberty on Capitol Hill. 517 15th Ave. E. 7:30, tomorrow night. Free.
