The word in D.C. is that U.S. Sen. Patty Murray (D-WA) will step in to head the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee. She'll be responsible for defending (raising money  for) 20 Democratic incumbents.

D.C. insider paper The Hill has more. They've only got it as a rumor, no statement from Sen. Murray, but Fizz says it's a done deal. As does the Seattle Times.
