Cook Political Report Agrees: Josh Is Wrong

By Erica C. Barnett November 2, 2010

Charlie Cook, who runs the well-respected Cook Political Report, predicts in the National Journal today that Patty Murray will win reelection by a small margin. (Josh thinks Dino Rossi will win; I predict a 52-48 Murray victory.) In an otherwise grim outlook for Senate Democrats, Cook predicts that along with Murray, Barbara Boxer of California and Joe Manchin of West Virginia will win election.

"Post-election, Republicans could hold between 47 and 49 seats to 51 to 53 seats for Democrats," Cook writes. "This new outlook means that the odds of Republicans winning a majority in the Senate are now non-existent."
