PubliCola Debate: Liquor Privatization
Should the state be in the liquor business? And if not, what should privatization look like? Hear from both sides at a PubliCola-sponsored debate on Sunday.
One of two initiatives on the ballot this November, I-1100, would remove price controls on liquor and dismantle the wall between liquor distributors, producers, and merchandisers, but would keep the tax on liquor that funds the state liquor control board. The second, I-1105, would allow price controls and maintain the wall between distributors and sellers, but would eliminate the tax on liquor.
All three camps will be on hand at this debate at Town Hall (1119 8th Ave) this Sunday at 7:30, moderated by Josh and me.
