I-1082 Debate!
Tomorrow night, 9:00 PM. Town Hall. In the wine bar lounge. State Rep. Brendan Williams vs. the BIAW.
I-1082 is the initiative that allows private insurers to enter Washington state's workers' comp system, which is currently under the exclusive purview of the state Labor and Industries department. I-1082 is possibly the most confusing initiative drafted by anyone ever.
If you're having trouble figuring out how to vote, you should definitely be there. A portion of the debate is town hall-style. If you've got some burning questions to ask about the initiative that nobody (except our speakers!) understands, show up and grab the mike.
Plus, if you're going to see Bill Clinton's former Secretary of Labor Robert Riech—who is (appropriately enough) speaking upstairs beforehand— you should stop by right afterwards.
