BIAW Bails on Debate
The Building Industry Association of Washington—the conservative political group that is sponsoring the workers' comp private option initiative, I-1082 (as we reported in today's Fizz, the BIAW is now all in as a $1 million contributor)—pulled out of our Town Hall debate tonight.
They had agreed to the debate three weeks ago and were lined up to face off against No-side spokesman state Rep. Brendan Williams (D-22) in the Town Hall lounge at 9 PM tonight right after former U.S. Secretary of Labor Robert Reich spoke upstairs.
The I-1082 campaign told us yesterday that they had a "scheduling conflict."
We're canceling the debate. We apologize for any inconvenience.
This Sunday at 7:30, we'll be hosting a Town Hall debate on this year's liquor initiatives with representatives from all sides.
