Sen. Murray on Mama Grizzlies
We played a quick round of "Say the First Thing That Comes to Your Mind" with U.S. Sen. Patty Murray this week.
Given Sen. Murray's status as the poster gal for 1992's famous "Year of the Woman," we wanted to get her snap reaction to Sarah Palin's 2010 feminism, which has lefty women tied in knots and is catapulting women like Christine O'Donnell in Delaware's U.S. Senate race.
Sitting down with Sen. Murray in her D.C. office—very forest-green rococo couch with pink flowers and a big-screen TV showing C-SPAN in the background—PubliCola said: "Mamma Grizzlies ."
Murray nearly fell over laughing, and then—first thing that came to her head—"My job!"—meaning, she said, her workload as a U.S. senator, mom, and grandma is a bear.
