A couple of observations from Assistant Secretary of State, Patrick McDonald:
•OFM estimates the state’s population to be 6,668,200 overall. According to this report 4,196,984 live in urban incorporated areas (yes, OFM considers towns like Washtucna and Starbuck urban). That leaves 2,471,216 living out in the woods, the rolling hills of the Palouse and in the nether reaches of—say—Ferry or Skamania County.
•The population of Forks rose by four people over the year—are those regular people or four tourists who got lost in the woods looking for Bella (if you don’t know what I am talking about, ask a teenager).
•In one year the City of Kent grew over 25,000. It now rivals Bellevue as King County’s 2nd largest city—and why is this, you may ask – is it a passionate population—no, sorry—it’s annexation.
