We're hosting a series of debates on this year's initiatives and the first one is on October 5 (next Tuesday) on I-1082, the BIAW-backed initiative that would allow private insurers into the state's workers' comp market.

Currently, the state's labor department runs the program. (Although, big companies like Boeing that meet the financial requirements can use private insurers as long as the coverage meets the same standards as the state's coverage.)

The debate will be in the lounge of Town Hall, immediately following a lecture upstairs in the main hall by former Secretary of Labor under Bill Clinton, Robert Reich.

We've got reps from both campaigns lined up for the event which begins at 9 pm. We'll be moderating.
