Walk 11 blocks due east of the utopian upscale-hipster urban street scene on 12th Ave between Union and Pike shown in the photo above and you're on a different planet, though you'll still be able to enjoy good Mexican food at an outdoor table of sorts:

A city's beauty and strength lies in its diversity. The challenge for a growing city like Seattle is to preserve it.
