Poll Update: McGinn Disapproval Dips to 59 Percent
An unscientific poll by the Seattle Channel now has Mayor Mike McGinn's disapproval rating at 59 percent—better than yesterday's 82 percent disapproval rating, but still not great for a newbie mayor. (Twenty-six percent say his performance is "outstanding," and 11 percent say it's "average.") Seattle Channel general manager Beth Hester said that as of noon yesterday, just 54 people had voted, but added, "Your blog post actually has gotten more people voting."
Contrary to speculation that city council staffers are simply voting over and over again, leading to results skewed against the mayor, Hester says Seattle Channel's polling software only allows one vote from each IP address; "otherwise, it's unscientific."
