Northwest Politics has a good wrap-up of the campaign to pass I-1098, the high-earners income tax, featuring Bill Gates, Sr., who was on the scene when the group turned in signatures and took some time to talk to the press.

2. The P-I covered a poll conducted by SurveyUSA and KING5: Murray has a slim lead over Rossi

At The Everett Herald's Petri Dish blog, Jerry Cornfield covered a story about an odd poll for Republican John Koster, who's running for Congress against Rick Larsen (D-WA, 2). One highlight: The pollster phoned Congressman Rick Larsen, identified Larsen as a Republican, and the results put Koster ahead.

4. Joel Connelly at the PI.com's Strange Bedfellows blog had a good scoop today: Sen. Maria Cantwell will support the Financial Reform Bill
, despite voting against it earlier this year (and outlining serious reservations—and prerequisites that were never met—to PubliCola when the bill first came up.)
