GOP Calls on Sen. Murray To Apologize for 2007 Vote

Lucky for then-Senator Obama he chose not to vote in 2007 when Republicans proposed a measure condemning Moveon.org for running a New York Times ad that called Gen. Patraeus "General Betray Us." If Obama had voted—as a pack of liberal senators did—against the measure, he'd be eating crow today.
Sen. Patty Murray is not so lucky. She voted against the measure. And now that President Obama has appointed Patraeus to step in and take over the Afghanistan campaign, she's in a minor fix, according to the GOP. To show support for the Democratic president's war in Afghanistan, she's needs to confirm Patraeus, someone she didn't stand up for in 2007.
The vote to get Patraeus' back was 72-25 with liberals in the Senate like Russ Feingold, Bernie Sanders, Hillary Clinton, Ted Kennedy, Carl Levin, Chuck Schumer, and yes, Murray, opposing it.
Three senators who didn't vote on it? Obama, Joe Biden, and, get this, Maria Cantwell.

Really? Dino Rossi and the Republican establishment have been in lock-step with George W. Bush's reasons for war since day one. Would you rather have a Senator who supports the free speech of organizations like MoveOn or one like Dino Rossi who supports George W. Bush.
