Extra Fizz: Bill Who?

By Josh Feit May 13, 2010

The numbers from the 34th District meeting (where Marcee Stone was endorsed for the state House seat) apparently don't tell the whole story about last night's raucous meeting.

It wasn't the battle for the state House seat the threw the crowd into a tizzy.

It was when Bill Hoffman
, a candidate seeking the District's endorsement in his quixotic run against U.S. Rep. Jim McDermott (D-7), stepped on the rules by taking the mic without a formal introduction and then tried (unsuccessfully) to suspend the rules so he could speak for eight minutes.

Hoffman, who has only raised $2,860 and who was incorrectly introduced as Grant Hoffman by the vice chair, didn't receive a single vote and was dressed down for his presumptuousness.

There was, ominously, a Rubber Maid cart of farm fresh eggs for sale in the front row.
