Update: The McKenna Agenda

By Josh Feit February 11, 2010

Earlier this year we reported on State Attorney General Rob McKenna's ambitious legislative agenda. The busy AG was proposing legislation to: Get tougher on domestic violence offenders
; crack down on child pornography (he wrote an op/ed for us on that one); protect seniors
from scams; enact stronger lemon laws; amp access to public records; and limit the government's ability to use eminent domain.

As it stands now (this was the week where bills had to get out of committee) all of McKenna's bills are still in play except for the public records proposals and the eminent domain bills—a controversial topic that pits property rights conservatives against environmental liberals and leaves everyone else scratching their heads  over U.S. Supreme Court rulings.
