New restaurants open in Capitol Hill and Normandy Park, and close in Greenwood and Ballard.

Hungry for news? Welcome to our Friday Feed, where we run through all the local food and restaurant news this week—and maybe help you figure out where to eat this weekend.

More Greenwood Gossip

We recently brought you all the good food news from Greenwood. Now there’s some bad. Satay Bar, the Thai restaurant wedged between stalwarts The Yard Cafe and Chocolati Cafe, has closed. Per the sign on the door, the owners have retired.

On That Note

The Ballard location of 8oz Burger and Company also chose ‘door note’ as medium to inform customers that their temporary closure is now permanent. The sign there said that damages from some of the repeated break-ins were too much, and they were closing. The space is slated for redevelopment, though nothing is scheduled yet. With the closure of the Capitol Hill location earlier this year, the only remaining location is South Lake Union, which is takeout only. The note says they plan to look for new locations. (Guys, there might be a space open in Greenwood?)

Bun Swap

Another burger we’ll miss is the one from Two Doors Down, which closed this week after nearly a decade on E Madison. Early next year, the space will become the gluten-free Yeobo Cafe and Bar, which plans to serve comfort food with a Korean American twist, Fulcrum Coffee, and customized breakfast sandwiches.

Anbai's fermented foods and bento boxes add new zing to Chophouse Row.

Unboxed

Former pop-up Anbai opened a permanent location this week at the lunch counter in Chophouse Row, serving miso soup, bento boxes, and onigiri. The name means balanced flavors, and owner Fumiyo Mukohata aims to show how foods like ume (salted sour plum), purple cabbage pickles, and brown rice with adzuki beans can improve gut health.

Peyrassol West's Crêpe Thermidor hides white prawns and dungeness crab under a blanket of the classic sauce.

Back For More

One year after beloved Renton restaurant Peyrassol Cafe lost its lease, owners Sachia Tinsley and Scott Cory have opened Peyrassol West in Normandy Park, featuring Mediterranean small plates, wines by the glass or bottle, and a small retail pantry. Tinsley founded Osteria La Spiga with her sister Sabrina in 1998 before venturing out on her own, and Peyrassol West will serve piadina flatbreads from Sabrina’s La Dispensa.

Celebrity Spotting

We love when homegrown celebrities show up at local restaurants, but it would just be a bit nicer if they didn’t do so at the place owned by the guy who went on a homophobic rant at a city council meeting.

Oh, BTW, here’s what you missed last week.
