Coming Soon to the Art of the Table Space: Something! Art of the Table is still serving its final meals through November, but this week, we got a hint of what’s next for the Fremont space. It will be Robin’s Restaurant & Market, from Model Restaurant Group, which hasn’t yet opened its first spot, Greenwood American Bistro (first details here). The group declined to share more beyond that “the food will be great.”
  • Sunset Hill is Booming: Brian Clevenger’s General Harvest Restaurants (Vendemmia, Autumn, Haerfest) was similarly tight-lipped about their plans for the tentative Sunset Hill Harvest, in the former Samara space on the western edge of Ballard. It’s an exciting time for the micro-neighborhood, after this month’s opening of Salmonberry Green Grocer.
  • Pike’s Pit BBQ Closing, But Not Pecos Pit: Pike’s Pit BBQ in Pike Place Market closed last Saturday. The restaurant hasn't made any announcements, but the staff at its sibling, Pecos Pit BBQ, was happy to chat, confirming that the other locations of the Seattle mini-chain remain open, despite online rumors to the contrary.
  • Chicken, Crossing Roads: In the summary of the Chicken Supply on our 50 best restaurants in Seattle list, we advise reserving your fried chicken early because they often sell out. But the Greenwood favorite just made it a bit easier to get your bird: As of yesterday, they offer limited orders for delivery via GrubHub.

Eat This: Podcaster Picks

All they do all day is talk about food, but what do they eat? We recently announced our picks for Seattle’s Best New Restaurants, but we also asked local food podcasters to name their favorite dishes of the year. This week, we’re sharing picks from Rachel Belle, host of Your Last Meal podcast and The Nosh with Rachel Belle on Cascade PBS, and author of Open Sesame: 45 Sweet and Savory Recipes for Tahini & All Things Sesame, coming out next month.

  1. Fiddlehead fern salad with crushed radishes and anchovy vinaigrette, Three Sacks Full.
  2. Seafood kelaguen tostada, Familyfriend.
  3. Thai sausage with sticky rice, cabbage leaves, and fresh herbs, Siam BBQ at Secret Congee.

Oh, BTW, here’s what you missed last week.
