Shota Nakajima, Jamie Tran, and Byron Gomez plot dinner domination during Top Chef's annual Restaurant Wars episode.

When Shota Nakajima competed on Top Chef, his team not only won the show’s traditional Restaurant Wars episode—it put on one of the most thoughtful, well-executed meals in the annals of Bravo history. Now, the Seattle chef is recreating the winning restaurant, complete with his three Top Chef teammates, right here in town.

Kokoson the Restaurant Wars concept was a chef’s table that applied Japan’s framework of kaiseki to a blend of Latin and Asian flavors. Kokoson the Seattle event will be a similar seven-course meal held November 21 at 5pm at Cortina downtown.

Top Chef alums Jamie Tran, Maria Mazon, and Byron Gomez will be here to pull this all off with Nakajima; they came together to do a similar event in San Diego this summer. Hopefully Mazon will be running front of house—and make some of her lengua sandos.

This is the latest Cooking with Friends event Nakajima has organized since his finalist-level run on the cooking show in the spring. Joe Sasto, a previous Top Chef finalist who’s now a familiar, mustachioed face on the show, will kick things off with an amuse-bouche. The Kokoson team then serves up its menu, this time with a seasonal subtext of Northwest mushrooms (Nakajima’s an avid forager).

This multicourse dinner runs a brisk $420 a person, including food and wine, with a $500 VIP afterparty option, where Sasto will moderate a discussion among the chefs—and maybe Tran will make some fun beatboxy noises? A portion of proceeds will benefit a TBD organization (in San Diego it was José Andrés’s World Central Kitchen). Tickets go on sale today, Thursday October 14, at noon, via Nakajima's Instagram.

UPDATE: The first dinner sold out fast, so Team Kokoson added a second night, Saturday November 20. Tickets (150 in total) go on sale at noon on Wednesday, October 20—once again, on Nakajima's Instagram.
