Shift Change

Miller's Guild
There's a new executive chef at Jason Wilson's sleek house of steak and his name is Alphonso Mills. Mills brings his Texan affinity for cooking with fire plus a background cooking everywhere, from the Microsoft headquarters to his grandmothers' kitchens, where he picked up many a skill and southern flair.

Bakery Nouveau
On September 28, William and Heather Leaman opened their third, and largest, bakery yet. Get a glimpse of pastry baking and chocolate making, or, you know, just sit back, relax and have another almond croissant. You deserve it.

MidiCi Pizza
Lynnwood will be the first Washington location for this fast-growing chain of Neapolitan-style pizza. It launched in LA back in 2015, now it officially opens this weekend in the Alderwood in Lynnwood. The grand opening—September 30 through October 2—brings free, fresh out of the wood-fired oven margherita pizza (one per customer, no purchase necessary, though toppings will cost you).

Up For Sale

Bar Cotto, Anchovies and Olives
Get in your last slurps of happy hour oysters on the half shell or bites of fire-kissed pizza because these neighboring Ethan Stowell spots are up for sale. No exact closure date has been announced as of yet.

Coming Soon

R and M Dessert Bar
Have your cake and eat it soon at this new Pike/Pine cafe come early October, when you can stay for a meal and a treat (maybe five, who's judging?), or swing by the walkup window that will be open until the wee hours.
