Ye sacred American burger. Everyone has strong feelings on what makes a good one. Li’l Woody’s in both Ballard and Capitol Hill make fine versions, but is known to dabble in offbeat mashups like last year’s burger collaboration in which a Top Pot doughnut stood in for the bun. Peanut butter and marshmallow creme were also involved.
This week though, Li’l Woody’s has made a sweet and savory burger baby with Cupcake Royale. It consists of a quarter-pound of grass-fed beef, bacon, herb and lemon zest cream cheese, and blueberry compote, all sandwiched between confetti cupcake buns. Yes, this is real life.
This amalgam of beef and cake—but don’t call it a beefcake—will be available at both locations through Monday, August 22.
