Georgetown's Fonda La Catrina has a new sibling restaurant that's all about small-plate seafood and mezcal. Go for a predinner cocktail while you wait for a table next door, but fair warning, you may wind up ordering a few more drinks and sticking to small plates all evening.
Last week Jill Buchanan (Matt Janke's partner at Lecosho) and Debra Russell opened Eve restaurant at 704 N 34th Street in Fremont, one year to the day after beloved Old School Frozen Custard closed its doors. Russell considers the fare "elevated, new Northwest hippie food," reports Eater Seattle.
Capitol Hill Bike Cafes
Capitol Hill Seattle reports a flurry of bicycle cafes will open this fall in Capitol Hill and Central District, all pairing food, drink, and functionality by offering varying degrees of sustenance and maintenance/repair services. So far we know of Peloton (12th and Jefferson) and Métier Racing and Coffee (1017 E Union), both slated for openings in October, but CHS isn't divulging details on the third "mystery rider" quite yet. Stay tuned, cyclists.
Neil Young showed West Seattle some love this week by stopping over for a pre-show pie at the wood-fired Neapolitan pizza destination. West Seattle Blog says he made the trip to see owner Cary Kemp, who served as Young's tour manager for 10 years prior to his pizza days.
