The annual Seattle Street Food Festival is back with a new location, new vendors, and a new pre-festival party.  

This year the major street food gathering has moved from Cal Anderson Park to a new space at South Lake Union. Festival director and founder of Mobile Food Rodeo, Ryan Reiter says the move was necessary in order to expand the annual food celebration and create more space for new vendors and foot traffic.  

The festivities kick off on Friday August 14 at 3pm, with a preview party and beer garden on the SLU Discovery Center Grassy Meadow. Here, Seattle street food pioneer turned restaurateur Josh Henderson will give attendees a sneak peek of his much-anticipated South Lake Union eatery, Great State Burger. He'll serve single and double burgers and crinkle fries with prices ranging from $3.50-$9.50. There will also be $4 beers from Elysian Brewing Company and live music from a batch of local acts. 

The festival officially runs from noon on Saturday August 15 until 7pm on Sunday August 16, with more than 75 food trucks, booths, and carts rolling out over three blocks along 9th Avenue (Denny Way to Harrison). Like previous years, the festival will transform on Saturday evening into a night market with live music and a lively beer garden.

Admission is free as always, and while there isn't a popup picnic like other years, there will be more than 75 artist and craft booths courtesy of the Urban Craft Uprising team.
