Our June issue named Seattle Met’s first annual Rising Star Chefs a quintet that critic Kathryn Robinson and I agreed upon after much eating, debate, soul searching, and marveling over how much freaking talent is hard at work in Seattle’s restaurant kitchens.
You can read about our selections here. But then our ace events team had a brilliant idea—a party featuring fare from each chef (alongside other bites and lots of beer and cocktails, duh), some live music, Seattle Met’s hilariously inappropriate house drag queen (since working here I've learned the importance of having a good drag queen on speed dial), and a cool new event space.
The Rising Star Chefs event is happening June 27 from 6 to 9pm at Jensen Studio in Capitol Hill, 1424 10th Ave, to be exact. I hear a rumor Jay Guerrero is making braised veal tongue. Tickets are $75 and as of this morning they're still available. Here's the website with everything you need to know. Proceeds benefit Global Partnerships.
