The U-District breakfast spot quietly closed last month

Mona’s Bistro and Lounge
The Green Lake bistro space apparently closed almost a month ago and has been taken over by Tony Tsui, who owns the Thai place next door. Although there are no known plans for the space, Mona’s former owners still run The Scarlet Tree just down the road, according to Eater Seattle.

The luck has run out for the Capitol Hill Chinese restaurant, even after trying creative methods like “double happiness hour” and bicycle delivery, says Capitol Hill Seattle blog. Although the location is prime, it couldn’t generate enough business.


Hello Robin
Molly Moon Neitzel and first-time cookie shop owner Robin Wehl Martin are planning Hello Robin in the four-story apartment complex being built at 19th Ave E and Mercer. Martin tells CHS that there will be unique cookies like habenero chocolate chip, and more traditional flavors. The owners are hoping for an October debut.

Von’s GustoBistro
Eater Seattle announces
Von’s plan to start serving weekend brunch starting the first of next month from 9 to 2. On the menu will be griddle cakes, eggs Benedict, house hashes, and more. If that doesn’t pull you in, how about bottomless mimosas.

One of Capitol Hill's many Mexican joints is expanding. While the owner of Tacos Chukis says he will always be proud of his "little hole in the wall," he's knocking down a wall to accommodate more loyal customers, according to CHS. Costruction should be done by the end of the month.


Tup Tim Thai
A couple weeks ago we found out that Tup Tim Thai would be closing, but thanks to customers showing their dismay and fierce support, and a letter from the Uptown Alliance, a manageable rent negotiation has been made that allows the popular Thai place to remain open. Eater Seattle reported that instead of the rent doubling to $8,000, a $5,300 agreement was made.
