Meet Roy Choi at Mobile Food Rodeo. Photo courtesy the event.

Roy Choi is something of a legend in food truck circles. The chef rolled out Kogi BBQ in 2008 and would go on to inspire legions of curbside cooks (or, more humbly, "Set off a nuclear bomb that would shake up and mutate the foundations of the industry so that street food would never be looked at the same way again," according to the Kogi website).

It's fitting, then, that the LA luminary will serve as "chef of honor" at next month's Mobile Food Rodeo, that biannual bonanza celebrating the meals-on-wheels movement. From 12:30-2, Choi will serve food and drinks then chat about his forthcoming (and first) book, Spaghetti Junction: Riding Shotgun with an LA Chef.

Mobile Food Rodeo happens September 15 in South Lake Union. Tickets to the Choi event are $49 in advance or $60 at the door.
