Not-Quite Happy Hour of the Week: Pan Africa Market

Injera rollups and piri piri chicken wings at Pan Africa
The bad news is that Pan Africa in Pike Place Market no longer offers happy hour. We only have ourselves to blame—a Pan Africa server told me that the restaurant decided to do away with HH because no one came.
Pan Africa does have plans to intro a new late-night happy hour. I’ll keep you posted on that, and I’ll also keep hitting up Pan Africa for early-evening snacks. Ultra-tasty injera rollups are my latest obsession, and they are just $6 a plate. They’re conceived almost like a maki roll, only injera (the spongy flat bread Ethiopians use to scoop up saucy dishes) takes the place of seaweed, curried lentils do the job of the rice, and bitter greens and other veg take the place of the raw fish. This description may not inspire you to think I’ve found the food of your fantasies, but trust me when I tell you that injera rollups taste awesome.
The piri piri wings are also $6 and also a score—the sauce is tangy and herbaceous, the baked wings are juicy perfection.
