Worst Beverages in America

Via New York’s Grub Street blog, here are the 20 Worst Drinks in America, according to Men’s Health. Top honors go to Cold Stone Creamery’s PB&C shake, a 2,010 calorie slurp with the same amount of sugar as 30 Chewy Chips Ahoy cookies.
Our own Starbucks made the list twice, with its white hot chocolate with whipped cream (worst hot chocolate, number 9), and its peppermint white chocolate mocha with whipped cream (worst espresso drink, number 11).
Shock factor aside, I have to point out that if you treat any of the above beverages as what they are—dessert—and watch portion control (all the calorie and sugar counts correspond to the largest size available), you’re not committing any major sins by indulging now and again.
Far more insidious, to my mind, are those sugar bombs disguising as juice and energy drinks. Remember, milkshakes were around for a long time before our country got all fat. Liquid popsicles disguising themselves as kombucha health boosters were not. Be who you are, beverages.
And on that note, here is a list of some favorite Seattle shakes.
