New Thursday Evening Wine Deal in Post Alley

A stretch of bars inside the market lures lushes with a by-the-glass offer.

May 21, 2010

Mmmm, wine.

On Thursday, June 10, the stretch of Post Alley that houses Kell’s, The Tasting Room, Post, and White Horse Trading Co, will inaugurate a new weekly wine event.

Each of these four venues will offer a $4 by-the-glass offering between the hours of 5 and 7pm every Thursday. The wine on special will change each week. This area of Pike Place is well-trodden territory for yours truly, and I can tell you that the crowds tend to be of the feast-or-famine variety. On weekdays it is deserted, on weekends it’s often a mad house. Thus, this new Thursday wine hop idea is a rather brilliant one.

Oh and P.S., did you know that this section of Post Alley was once a dead-body storage spot? The Butterworth building, which housed the public section of the funeral home, is on First, but the bodies were stored below and in back, in the current site of Kell’s. Is that gross to you? I think it’s really cool and spooky.
