Olympia’s New Bar Opens on 15th Avenue East

Opening today, Olympia’s drinkery next door is the new home of the antique wooden bar that once graced historic J&M Cafe and Cardroom in Pioneer Square.
The J&M Cafe and Cardroom, shuttered in 2009, was a Pioneer Square drinking landmark whose closure inspired a whiskey-soaked nostalgia in many a longtime Seattle lush.
Good news, longtime Seattle lushes: the gorgeous wooden and mirrored bar that once lined the wall at J&M can now be found on 15th Avenue E, where today Olympia Pizza and Spaghetti House III opens a full-service bar in the storefront next door.
Owner Harry Nicoloudakis says the bar will offer happy hours daily from 3-7pm and again from 11pm-1am. Spcials include $5 martinis and Manhattans and $1 discounts on house reds and whites, draught beers, and well drinks. The restaurant’s entire menu can be ordered from the bar; Nicolodakis says the kitchen is working on a new appetizer menu as well.
The bar opens at 3pm on Monday, January 11.
