Want Something Sparkly?

Talk to Toshi at Quinn’s.

November 10, 2009

Have you met Toshi at Quinn’s? He’s a bartender (who formerly worked at 22 Doors) and he’s awesome. The last time I was there I ordered a sparkling pear cider, but he wasn’t very into the most recent batch. He had me smell it. Funky. “Want something sparkly?” he asked. Yes Toshi. So he made me a cocktail: pear brandy, yellow chartreuse, and sparkling wine with a lemon twist. Like pear cider, only better. And made especially for me. That’s good bartending.

Also, there’s no absinthe on the back bar at Quinn’s, so Toshi makes sazeracs with his own pastis-like concoction. The label on the bottle reads “Pastis-ish.” Cute.
