New Bars Abound

Pony part deux, Serafina’s Cichetti, and what’s this? A new CD bar called Bar 19.

Ours is bigger than yours? The wine tower at Purple is about to get some competition.

Yesterday, the CHS blog confirmed that the new iteration of The Pony (on Madison Ave) will open tomorrow, September 3rd. Meanwhile in the former Anne Bonney storefront on Olive, artist Monika Proffitt will bring us The Living Room Bar. Tentative opening (it all comes down to sprinkler systems) is Halloween. More on that later this week.

When I first learned a few weeks back that Eastlake mainstay Serafina was opening a separate bar, I was excited to see this underrated cocktail spot expand its booze program. Now we can track the progress of Cichetti—slated to open this fall—here.

Meanwhile in the Central District, Kedra Reisinger, owner of Madrona’s All Purpose Pizza and Ale House, has put in an application to open a new spot called Bar 19 at 1824 E Yesler Way—we’re trying to reach her for details and will pass them on as soon as we can.

Downtown, the Seattle location of Sip.at the Wine Bar and Restaurant—that’s really its name—will bring “a Napa-esque, grown-up sophisticated vibe” to 5th and Madison in Mid-October. Look out Purple, because Sip is boasting a “towering wall wine,” to compete with the wowee wowness of your own. The restaurant will serve lunches and dinners paired with wines from all over the world.
