New Menu at 22 Doors

The ever-morphing resto on 15th Ave East is now all about the small plates.

Beet Salad at 22 Doors

All these changes! Though we’re happy to see 22 Doors didn’t lose those blue leather library-style bar stools in the remodel, it has totally reconfigured the menu. Yup, 22 Doors has reinvented itself as a tapas restaurant: There is a Spanish tortilla, a beet salad with goat cheese and red onion, a giant raviolo, truffled fries, truffled popcorn. And it’s now cheap, too: many of the items hover around $5-$7.

It’s too early to say anything definitive, but this is likely a good development. The old menu was okay, but it was also outdated, overpriced, and uninspired. The burgers, however, which come accompanied by a mountain of supertasty shoestring fries, have always been spot-on. We’re happy to report that they survived the cut along with the barstools.

Stop by either on Monday, when those excellent burgers and veggie burgers are half price ($6). Sunday, meanwhile, is half-priced wine night.

Now let’s hope the leave it alone for a little while.
