Free Rainier Cherries Tomorrow in Pike Place Market

Whatever you think about Mayor Greg Nickels, you have to admit that he’s even better at declaring days than Mayor Quinby on "The Simpsons." (Remember Beer Week? That thing was official.)
A recent press release brought the news that after much deliberation, Mayor Nickels has decried that from this day forth, July 11 will be know as National Rainier Cherry Day.
And to celebrate, Northwest Cherries will be passing out free Rainier cherries in Pike Place Market tomorrow, Friday, July 10th, near Stewart street.
Rainier, a mutt of a cherry created when some mad scientists crossed a Bing with a Van, is the yellow one with the red blush. It’s delicious. Make sure to get yours tomorrow at the market.
