A friend of mine just sent me an email about a fundraiser for 33 year-old Brouwers bartender Christopher Cavanaugh, who has been diagnosed with a very serious type of Leukemia that will keep him out of work for at least the next six months. (Full story from KING 5 here.)
In response, Brouwers has organized a benefit to take place at the Fremont beer hall next Sunday, April 26. Ten local breweries are donating kegs, 100 percent of the proceeds from those kegs will be given to Cavanaugh for living expenses while he is in treatment.
Obviously, a very good reason to head over to Brouwers next Sunday. Live music begins at 9pm, if you can’t make it but still want to help out, you can donate directly to a fund set up at Fremont Bank.
With thanks to Erin Gengo for the tip.
