The Pause that Refreshes

A Couple of Your Faves will be Closed for a Bit

By Kathryn Robinson February 24, 2009

Did you hear about the electrical fire at Perche No Pasta & Vino? It happened Saturday night and has closed the place for a TBD period of time; owners are guessing a month or so. Stay tuned, because they’ll rev back up, God willin’. In these times comforting pastas in casual neighborhood locations are surviving better than most.

Capitol Hill’s Artemis closed that same night, for a remodel to retool the interior from a fine-dining destination to more of a casual, affordable bar-food joint. (The Tablehopper says Bravo! Artemis has long been a little bit bipolar, having never quite decided whether it wanted to be a liquid scene for Hill prowlers or a serious kitchen for serious diners. Through a dizzying revolving door of chefs, it’s always been better at the former. Looks like now, the former it shall be!) Expect its re-opening in mid-May—complete with leafy, viewy patio, just in time to need it. Yippee!

Finally…anyone know what up with Ponte Vecchio? The Fremont gem was open on Valentine’s Day…closed just days later.

Tell us it’s temporary, Ponte Vecchio.
