Sharing the Success

Eighth annual YWCA Closet Treasures sale.

By Laura Cassidy September 27, 2010

You can dress for success and help others do the same by shopping donated items like this vintage Christian Dior umbrella and ’50s-era pumps at the Eighth Annual Closet Treasures sale.

Where: Seattle YWCA, 1118 Fifth Ave

What: For the eighth year, the downtown YWCA will present a mountain of donated treasures — new, designer, vintage, and gently used women’s clothing, shoes, and accessories — for below consignment prices. While the goods on offer include evening gowns, leather coats, a DVF snakeskin print silk dress, and a vintage Burberry trench, organizers tell us that almost everything is under $50.

All proceeds benefit Dress for Success, a program of the YWCA.

When: Presale is Saturday, October 2 from 10 to 4; suggested donation of $35. Sale is Sunday, October 3 from 10 to 2; admission is free.
