What to Do for Labor Day Weekend

The Washington State Fair caters to kids and kids at heart.
A federal holiday honoring the American labor movement just so happens to be the last three-day weekend unofficially marking the end of summer. Here's how to make the most of it.
Fairs
Evergreen State Fair
Monroe
Lest this be confused with the other state fair down in Puyallup, the Evergreen State Fair returns for its second stretch over Labor Day weekend. This year, find the obligatory live concerts, carnival rides, and speedway events, along with the rodeo, which is finally back after a Covid hiatus. Admission on Labor Day is discounted, but that unlimited carnival ride wristband still costs $37 a pop.
Washington State Fair
Puyallup
While Evergreen is winding down, the Washington State Fair is ramping up with its opening weekend over Labor Day. The classic Americana favorites—livestock shows, carnival rides, concerts, and all manner of fair food—are on offer along with some newcomers, like an exhibit of animatronic dinosaurs.

What better way to celebrate Labor Day than with a beak-to-nose encounter with livestock at the Washington State Fair?
Sports

Seattle Storm vs. Las Vegas Aces
Climate Pledge Arena
Watch Sue Bird, the undeniable GOAT, and company take on the Las Vegas Aces in this second-round playoff game. The city has shown up for Bird during her last season, so it's safe to say that CPA will be rocking.
Seattle Mariners vs. Chicago White Sox
