Last week, Adam Zacks and Seattle Theatre Group announced Thing, a new festival held at Port Townsend’s Fort Worden, but released very little beyond that it would have “music, comedy, film, dance, food, podcasts, visual arts, and... a mentalist.”

Today, Thing announced the full lineup. It reads like a good, and mellower, version of Sasquatch. Violent Femmes, De La Soul, Jeff Tweedy, Calexico with Iron and Wine are all indie-world mainstays at this point. But the rest of the list leans toward rising stars: Japanese Breakfast, Snail Mail, Orville Peck. Seattle writer Lindy West and comedian Todd Barry will talk. Thing rounds out with a smattering of oddball touches: a live read of An Officer and a Gentleman (filmed at Fort Worden), Napoleon Dynamite Live!, and Macaulay Culkin will tape a Bunny Ears podcast. You can also expect—since this is the goddamn PNW—yoga and guided hikes. See the full list here.
