Is there a more deified figure in American culture than Beyoncé? One can criticize other music stars (Taylor Swift, Kanye West), athletes (Cam Newton, LeBron James), and even the President of the United States with impunity. Dare to speak an unkind word about Beyoncé? Do so at your own peril. Fans of the pop superstar will attack you like ravenous wolves (Saturday Night Live even turned this phenomenon into a terrific sketch). That said, there's a reason Queen B gets so much love. On Sunday she stole the Super Bowl halftime show from "headliner" Coldplay, and the day prior she dropped the gorgeous and evocative music video for her new single "Formation" (presumably from a yet-to-be-announced new album).

After her performance at the big game, Bey immediately dropped the dates for the Formation World Tour, which will be making a stop in Seattle at CenturyLink Field on Wednesday, May 18. In her last visit to Seattle, Beyoncé co-headlined across the street at Safeco Field with her husband, Jay Z. This time, the stage will be all hers.

Tickets for Beyoncé at CenturyLink Field go on sale Monday, February 22 at 10am on ticketmaster.com. Seats start at $45 and go up to $280.
