Still basking in the thrill of yesterday's World Cup victory for the United States women? Why not channel that enthusiasm into seeing the best players in the world when they come to Seattle? Professional women's soccer has always struggled in the States, but now's the perfect time to get out and show your support for the U.S. Women's National Team by catching a few Seattle Reign FC National Women's Soccer League games at Seattle Center's Memorial Stadium. The Reign currently sit tied atop the NWSL standings and boast two of the the American team's biggest stars: professional badass Megan Rapinoe and the world's top goalie, Hope Solo. Over the next two months, many of the other USWNT standouts will come through Seattle.
Things kick off this weekend with with a July 11 match against the Western New York Flash, which features part-time forward Sydney Leroux and reserve Whitney Engen. The next tilt brings superstar forward Alex Morgan, World Cup Final goal-scorer Tobin Heath, and the Portland Thorns FC to Memorial Stadium. New American hero Carli Lloyd brings the Houston Dash to town on August 12, and she's got formidable support in the form of defender Meghan Klingenberg and midfielder Morgan Brian. The Boston Breakers head west on August 26 with backup goaltender Alyssa Naeher (admittedly the least USWNT-loaded matchup), and the Reign's season wraps up on August 29 with a game against Sky Blue FC and the defensive duo of Christie Rampone and Kelley O'Hara.
Tickets are available now at reignfc.com and by phone at 855-REIGN-FC (734-4632). Single game tickets cost $19–$32 (with VIP tickets for $200). Three game packs are available for $51–$90. Half-season tickets—which cover the club's remaining five games—can be purchased for $85–$150.
