Thru Mar 1
Cinderella
Long before NBC revived the televised musical with The Sound of Music and Peter Pan, Rodgers and Hammerstein debuted their sole contribution to the genre, Cinderella, on CBS in 1957. Flipping the standard stage-to-screen path, the duo’s version was revived on Broadway in 2013, and now Cinderella takes a ride in her pumpkin carriage to the Paramount stage this month. Don’t worry, the show ends before midnight. Paramount Theatre, $25–$100
Thru Mar 1
Around the World in 80 Days
Jules Verne's wild tale of the globe-trotting Phileas Fogg takes flight (perhaps in a hot air balloon?) in Village Theatre's production of Around the World in 80 Days. Those living on our eastern borders take haste, as it's the last weekend to catch the show in Issaquah before it traverses over to the Village Theatre in Everett. Village Theatre, Issaquah, $47–$67
Thru Mar 7
The Explorers Club
Gender politics take center stage in the madcap comedy The Explorers Club. Created by the cowriter of Legally Blonde, the Musical's score, this story of adventure finds the London Explorers Club (circa 1879) at a crossroads, as a woman has been nominated for membership after she discovers a mythical city. Taproot Theatre, $20–$40
Thru Mar 14
Blood/Water/Paint
From Live Girls! Theatre comes Blood/Water/Paint, a retelling of the life of Artemisia Gentileschi, the Italian Baroque whose accomplishments as a creative influence were muted by the gender norms of her time. Directed by Amy Poisson, the play spans Gentileschi's professional life, from her time as a teenage apprentice to a master painter and mother, teaching her own daughter how to find a voice through the canvas. Theatre Off Jackson, $18–$22

THEESatisfaction: EarthEE Album Release Show
It's hard to carve out a niche in the overcrowded music world, but THEESatisfaction has managed to craft its own distinct spot in the soundscape. The duo of Stasia "Stas" Irons and Catherine "Cat" Harris-White seamlessly blends rap and electronic R&B into an experimental cocktail that goes down smooth. In the landscape of the Seattle hip-hop scene, they're Shabazz Palaces's sonic soul sisters; still providing a trippy audio exploration, but offering a less spacey, more natural counterpoint that feels slightly more grounded in the terra firma of our planet. The duo celebrates the release of its sophmore Sub Pop LP EarthEE with a record release featuring Gifted Gab and DJ Mursi Lane. Neumos, $12
COMEDY

Rob Delaney
Comedian Rob Delaney is many things: standup, Twitter filth luminary with over one million followers, best-selling author, and purveyor of beefy metaphors. You can now add successful sitcom cocreator, writer, and star to that list. Last year Delaney moved over to the UK to create Catastrophe with British comedian Sharon Horgan. The show follows Delaney and Horgan as a pair of transcontinental strangers who get thrown together when their brief fling results in a pregnancy. Delaney now returns to the U.S. and the standup stage for his bluntly titled Meat tour. Neptune Theatre, $25
Feb 26–28
James Adomian
Comedian James Adomian can crack up audiences both in and out of character. The standup has plenty of his own material, but also excels at the art of impersonation. He's flaunted his chameleon skills on Comedy Bang! Bang!, showing up as Jesse Ventura, Gary Busey, Gordon Ramsay, and many others. Tacoma Comedy Club, $10–$15

Star Wars and the Power of Costumes
Jedi robes. Han’s vest. Leia’s slave bikini. Vader’s cape and helmet. Stormtrooper armor. C-3PO’s golden exterior. The otherworldly garb and concept designs from George Lucas’s galaxy far, far way will be on display at EMP in Star Wars and the Power of the Costume. EMP, $30
