Break Out Your Pillbox Hat—a Kennedy Is Coming to Seattle

By Katie Ormsby April 5, 2011

Caroline Kennedy reads from her new collection of poems at Third Place Books.

At age three, Caroline Kennedy was jumping on her father’s bed, waking him up after his close 1960 election with “Good morning, Mr. President!” Now a philanthropist and bestselling author, the former first daughter stops by Third Place Books on April 11 with her latest, She Walks in Beauty: A Woman’s Journey Through Poems. It’s a collection of verse about womanhood, drawing from big names: Edna St. Vincent Millay to Pablo Neruda—even Queen Elizabeth I.

Soak up some Camelot mystique when Kennedy reads at 7pm at the Lake Forest Park store. Books go on sale today, April 5. Everyone is welcome to listen to Kennedy speak, but the purchase of a book is required to enter the signing line. Visit or call 206-366-3333.
