Holiday Book Signing
Phinney Neighborhood Center, November 20, 3-6pm
Forget your standard bookshop signings, with their long queues to reach a single bored author slapping his or her Hancock on the title page. On Saturday, the Phinney Neighborhood Center will be the epicenter of Seattle’s literary community with—count ‘em—20 local authors on hand signing and selling their wares. Neighborhood bookstore Santoro’s will supply the merchandise, and plans to donate 10 percent of sales to Seattle Arts and Lectures’ Writers in the Schools program and the Phinney Center. To sweeten the pot, the authors are bringing their own homemade cookies for shoppers to nibble while they grill their favorite authors on just why they killed off that great character. Authors will read on a rotating basis during the three-hour event.
Expect to see: Garth Stein, Stephanie Kallos, Jim Lynch, Erica Bauermeister, Erik Larson, Carol Cassella, Kevin O’Brien, Jennie Shortridge, Elizabeth George, Randy Sue Coburn, Kit Bakke, Maria Dahvana Headley, Robert Dugoni, Sean Beaudoin, Kathleen Alcala, Suzanne Selfors, David Boling, Thea Cooper, Laurie Frankel and Susan Wiggs.
