WHERE: Everywhere, anyone can support the cause and spread the word about heart disease. Read Go Red for events happening around the Sound.
WHAT: It isn't called the "silent killer" for nothing. 1 in 3 American women will die from heart disease, as compared to 1 in 30 women who die of breast cancer. That's certainly not to say one cause is more important than the other, but the hard truth is that heart disease is often considered a man's illness, and many women don't recognize the signs until it's too late.
WHEN: Break out crimson hues on Friday, February 7 for National Wear Red Day, a campaign to raise awareness about heart disease.Visit the American Heart Association's free public event at the Alderwood Mall center court on Saturday, February 8 from 11 to 2 for resources and activities, or attend the annual Go Red for Women Luncheon at the Seattle Marriott Waterfront Hotel on Wednesday, March 26 at 10:30.
